Mark Burnett has served as our President and C.E.O. since the acquisition of Heritage Golf in January, 2020. Mark previously was President and C.O.O. of ClubCorp where from 2007 through mid 2018 he was responsible for Operations, Acquisitions, Sales and Reinvention of the multi billion dollar company.
During his leadership more than 70 new clubs were acquired and over $750 million was reinvested in club facilities, acquisitions and new product/amenity development. Mark led the deployment of more than $250 million dollars of reinvention capital to indoor and outdoor f&b areas, golf courses and practice ranges, fitness space, aquatics and tennis resulting in significant revenue and membership growth. The company went public on the NYSE in 2013 and then sold in 2017 to a private equity group after doubling EBITDA over his tenure. Between 1993 and 2004, Mark held various C.E.O., C.O.O. and E.V.P. executive leadership positions at KSL Fairways, American Golf and Golf Enterprises. Mark also has significant entrepreneurial experience including multi unit ownership of Five Guys Enterprises. He has a myriad of industry experience participating in advisory boards, panels and speaking engagements with organizations such as Golf 2020, N.G.C.O.A., P.G.A. “Growing the Game” and the National First Tee. Mark holds a B.S. in business management from Indiana University.
Scott McMartin is our Chief Acquisition Officer at Heritage Golf Group. With over 25 years of experience in real estate development, finance, sales, leasing and acquisitions, Scott was most recently the Executive Vice President & Chief Acquisition Officer for Sequoia Golf Holdings where he oversaw all business development and completed all new acquisitions.
Prior to joining Sequoia in 2007, he served 15 years as Senior Vice President / Acquisitions for National Golf Properties, Inc., formally a real estate investment trust publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: TEE). While at National Golf Properties, Scott was responsible for the acquisition of more than 100 golf properties, investing more than $750 million until National Golf was acquired by Goldman Sachs Capital Partners and Starwood Capital Group as part of a $1.2 billion leveraged buyout in 2003. Since 1998, Scott has been a donor and served as Tournament Chairman for multiple fundraising events. Scott holds BS degrees in Economics and Political Science from the University of Colorado.
Andy Miller is our Chief Revenue Officer since the acquisition of Heritage Golf where he oversees all revenue initiatives. Andy recently completed a 33 year career with ClubCorp with his most recent role as Executive Vice President of Membership Sales and Retention.
Prior to that, Andy was a Regional V.P. of Operations, V.P. of Acquisitions and Development as well as a General Manager of two large multi-dimensional Revenue/EBITDA clubs in Florida and Texas. He has been involved with more than 100+ club acquisitions and redevelopments as well as creating industry revolutionary membership products. Andy’s experience in creating unique programs to drive membership sales, usage and retention is unparalleled in the industry. He has served as an Adjunct Professor and is a frequent speaker at colleges and industry events. Charitable Board involvement includes mentoring S.M.U., M.B.A. & B.B.A. students, Dallas Academy (a K-12 school for L.D. students) and Skylark/Lionheart Children’s Ministries. He holds an M.B.A. from S.M.U., B.A.A.S. in Education from the University of North Texas and A.A.A.S. from University of Minnesota, Crookston.
Eileen Watford is our V.P. of Accounting and Finance since the acquisition of Heritage Golf. Prior to joining Heritage, Eileen has held various accounting and finance positions at KSL Fairways and Fore Golf.
During her 30-year career, Eileen has overseen the acquisitions and accounting operations for over 80 owned and managed private, semi-private and public golf facilities. Eileen’s expertise for streamlined processes and cost management maximizes the efficiencies for both accounting and operations leading to a platform for growth and improved investment return. Eileen is involved and held leadership roles in various local community and school programs. Eileen holds a B.S. in Accounting from the University of South Carolina.
Jim Oliver has been a PGA Professional for over 25 years and has that many years of management experience in the golf industry. Most recently Jim was the Chief Operating Officer for Arcis Golf from 2015 through mid-2020. During his tenure, Arcis made Inc. 5000 List of the nation’s fastest growing private companies in 2017 and 2018. Jim spearheaded several multimillion dollar transformation projects involving restaurants, golf course & golf course practice facilities, fitness, aquatics and tennis resulting in measurable revenue and membership growth levels.
Before joining Arcis as their COO, Jim was Regional Vice President(RVP) for ClubCorp responsible for the West Coast club operations which included 25 properties (20 private, 5 daily fee). Prior to that Jim was the RVP for ClubCorp’s North Texas Region which included the 13 private clubs in the Dallas area among other Clubs in the Midwest United States. Jim’s other roles during his career in the industry have included Vice President of Club operations for PGA WEST and LaQuinta Resort in LaQuinta California from 2002-2007, General Manager for several different private clubs with American Golf and Golf Enterprises. Jim is a Wichita State University Alum.
Phillip Rosengarden joined the Heritage Golf Group in July 2020 as the Acquisition Analyst. For the past 4 years Phil worked at ClubCorp as a Financial Analyst, where he worked on budgeting, forecasting and reporting Membership and Private Event metrics. He also assisted with numerous acquisitions focusing on researching market and club demographics.
Phil has grown up playing golf while helping their family business found and develop an award winning publication called Avid Golfer. He played collegiate golf and holds degrees in Economics and Finance from Lafayette College in Pennsylvania.
Eric Boberg joined Heritage Golf Group in April 2020 as the Vice President of Operations. Eric has over 30 years of private club experience and most recently served as the Senior Vice President of Operations for ClubCorp where he was responsible for over-seeing 23 private country clubs, 4 daily fee golf operations and 5 private dining clubs. Eric supervised a team of professionals that generated over 50 Million dollars in food and beverage revenue, managed 15 clubhouse renovations and was a leading member of the operations group during numerous club acquisitions.
During his 25+ year career with ClubCorp, Eric has held numerous VP, General Manager and Director of Food and Beverage roles. He has worked with over 66 different food and beverage operations with a focus on employee development, extraordinary member/guest experiences and innovation. Eric is a past board member of the Collins College of Hospitality Management at Cal Poly Pomona and is a Certified Club Manager (CCM) through the Club Management Association of America (CMAA).
Patti Hulsebus has been our Vice President of Marketing and Sales since the acquisition of Heritage Golf. Patti has over 35 years of operational, development and sales experience in the private club industry. Most recently she was the V.P. of Membership and Sales supporting 30 clubs in 14 states at ClubCorp.
Patti has experience in many aspects of the business including being a country club General Manager, Private Events Director, and Membership Director. While at ClubCorp, Patti worked with 25+ club acquisitions coordinating member focus groups, membership sales and retention plans, hiring and training sales personnel, developing communications plans, while also working with Club Board of Governors and Committees.
