Under the leadership of John Hungerford (President), Heritage Golf Group is evolving the private country club experience to the highest level—on the cutting edge of tradition—by honoring the current traditions while enhancing and elevating the member and guest experience. John Hungerford
John Hungerford | President

John Hungerford relies on his thirty years of golf industry experience to oversee the daily operations of the Heritage Golf Group portfolio of clubs. Working directly with the General Managers of each golf club, John focuses on all areas of club operations, including, but not limited to, strategic planning, marketing, and capital improvement projects.

Prior to Heritage Golf Group, John was the Senior Operations Director for the Cobblestone Golf Group portfolio of properties located in Texas. In 1998, he assumed the role of Vice President, Operations, where he oversaw the growth of the company’s portfolio from 27 to 45 clubs. While at Cobblestone, John received the company’s coveted “President’s Cup” award and was a member of the company’s team that received the 1998 “Entrepreneur of the Year” award presented by Ernst & Young.

John began his career as a golf course superintendent, where his business acumen quickly propelled him into the role of General Manager of a variety of different clubs. His education further supports his industry experience, with degrees in Ornamental Horticulture and Business Management, accompanied by post-graduate work in Environmental Landscaping. John is a member of the Club Managers Association of America.

Shad Butte
Shad Butte | Chief Financial Officer

Shad Butte, Chief Financial Officer, oversees all aspects of business planning and strategy for Heritage Golf Group, including operation strategies from short- and long-term views, specific & measurable goals with realistic time lines. His expertise is built on a foundation of years of experience in hospitality industry, risk management and corporate planning.

Prior to his association with Heritage Golf Group, Shad worked as a Golf Operations Manager for JC resorts. Butte was Operations Analyst at Cobblestone Golf Group. Prior to his work with Cobblestone, Butte was VP of Operations at Asset Risk Management. Butte earned a degree in Business Administration from California State University – Long Beach.

Gary Lorfano
Gary Lorfano | VP Marketing & Sales

Gary Lorfano comes to Heritage with over 23 years of expertise in the golf industry with a professional track record in sales, marketing, customer relations and business development for organizations ranging from entrepreneurial start-up ventures to Fortune 500 companies in the technology, sports entertainment and golf industries.

Prior to joining Heritage Golf Group, Lorfano served as President of Entertainment Solutions Group. He has held the positions of Director of Sales & Client Services for Nicklaus/Flick Golf Schools, Executive Director & National Director of Sales & Marketing for the Arnold Palmer Golf Academy, Vice President of Sales for Swing Solutions.

Heritage Golf Group continues to expand its team of seasoned experts who specialize in golf, operations, culinary, lodging, fitness, service training, agronomy, and special events. Lorfano is a graduate of University of Southern Maine-School of Business where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. Lorfano’s strong background in integrated marketing strategies will create demand, enhance the golf experience and drive profits for Heritage Golf Group’s quality portfolio of clubs.

Judy Muñoz
Judy Muñoz | Director of Human Resources

Judy Muñoz, Director of Human Resources, oversees all aspects of Human Resource Management and Payroll at Heritage Golf Group. She works directly with the General Managers and the Human Resources liaison at each of our premier golf club properties. Muñoz provides them guidance on carrying out responsibilities on personnel matters including management training on topics such as acceptable employment practices, policies and procedures.

She has been an imperative member of the Heritage Golf Group team since it was first founded in 1999. She began her career with Heritage on October 1999 as an Accountant and was promoted to Director of Human Resources in 2000. Prior to her position with Heritage Golf Group, Muñoz worked for Cobblestone Golf Group as the Payroll Administrator. Prior to being hired as an employee at Cobblestone, she provided bookkeeping services. Her education in accounting and the completion of the Human Resource Management Program at California State University, San Marcos further supports her experience. She is an active member of the Society for Human Resource Management and also a member of the American Payroll Association.

Chris Calloway
Chris Calloway | Director of Project Management

Chris Calloway, Director of Project Management for Heritage Golf Group, has more than 11 years of leadership experience in the hospitality and restaurant industry. As the Director of Project Management, Calloway is responsible for construction and renovation projects that will enhance the Heritage Golf Group collection of properties. He will also assist in the design and layout of service related aspects of the clubs.

Calloway’s strong background in finance and account management, as well as his intricate knowledge of retail operations and hospitality, will enhance the already impressive team at Heritage Golf Group and drive profits for the Heritage Golf Group private clubs and resort properties.

Calloway previously owned and operated Taqueria Del Sol, a Mexican restaurant which serves made from scratch southwestern and Mexican cuisine, where he managed all aspects of Business Operations including strategic planning, franchise consulting, and account management.

Calloway, President and founder of Calloway Consolidated Group, Inc., a restaurant franchise, opened 14 new restaurants over seven years in the Jacksonville, Florida area. He was responsible for all aspects of business development, including site construction and day-to-day operations. Calloway and his franchises received numerous awards, including the “Top Franchisee Award” and “Top Customer Service Award” in 2009, as well as The Jacksonville Business Journal’s “Fastest Growing Private Company in Jacksonville” award for two consecutive years in 2010 & 2011. Calloway was also awarded “40 under 40”, a prestigious award given to select influential young business leaders, by the Jacksonville Business Journal. In 2003, Calloway graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Calloway has a passion for hospitality and strategic planning and a proven track record of delivering progressive concepts.
